Ken Maddock, the Police and Crime Commissioner Candidate for Avon and Somerset, attended the Somerset School Games 2012 at Millfield School, Street on Friday. The Games are an opportunity for all schools in Somerset to come together and show young people that there is an opportunity for everyone in sport, regardless of their ability, as well as taking part in a competitive event.

After nearly 50 years of campaigning the small villageof Corfe, outside of Taunton recently saw the speed limit through the village reduced to 30 mph. Paperwork held by the Parish Council shows that as long ago as the early sixties the villagers were arguing for a reduction.
