The Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) candidate, Ken Maddock, visited the Victim Support centre in Bishopsworth on Wednesday 4th June.
Ken was keen to visit Victim Support at an early stage to fully understand the role they play in supporting victims of crime. He met with staff and volunteers to see the good work that the charity does and how the new role of the PCC will work with them.
Victim Support volunteers offer victims the opportunity to talk to someone in confidence about how a crime has affected them and help them with information on the Police and the justice system.
“It is vital to put victims of crime at the very centre of all our action on prevention, detection and punishment” Ken continued, “They are the people that can tell me if the system is working and how it could be improved. If I’m elected to be the PCC for Avon and Somerset I will be completely on their side and give them the support they need.”
