The Conservative Leader of Sedgemoor District Council, Cllr Duncan McGinty has today welcomed news that the Council is teaming up again with the Somerset Business Agency to fund a new programme, designed to help people who are thinking about becoming self-employed or starting a business.
The programme takes people on a journey through the different areas involved such as awareness, marketing, sales, finance, running a business start-up and social media and consists of a series of workshops, run by professionals in their field , where discussion is encouraged and also gives networking opportunities.
The previous progamme saw eleven businesses set up including a cake business, vintage shop, kids party business, holistic therapies, hairdresser, artist, scaffold business, designer, cleaning business, jewellery, health consultant, dancer, takeaway business, and a garden accessory maker.
