Local MP Rebecca Pow welcomes local businessman to Number 10 reception
Last Wednesday (24th May), the ‘Local Business Champions’ reception was hosted at Number 10 Downing Street to celebrate the work of businesses up and down the country. Local MP Rebecca Pow nominated Colin Barrell, owner of Mr Miles Tea Room in Taunton and Exec member of the Taunton Chamber of Commerce. The guests were greeted at the reception by Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt MP who recognised the contribution local businesses make in our communities.

“Our local businesses, especially the small and medium sized companies are the backbone of our local economy. In this respect, I was delighted to nominate Colin Barrell as my ‘local business champion’ and welcome him to this reception with the Chancellor at Number 10. Colin is the proprietor of the stylish and welcoming Mr Miles Tea Room in Taunton and is also an Exec member of the Taunton Chamber of Commerce.”
The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt said:
