When is £113,749 the same as £4 million? When it’s Liberal Democrat propaganda.
Some of their election leaflets say that £4 million has been spent by the Conservatives at County Hall on an office makeover including carpets, furniture and paintings. Now we all know the Liberal Democrats’ dismal record with the County Council finances (basically, they don’t understand money: they just borrow) and here is yet another example.
The truth is that the amount “spent on office furniture across a range of offices is £113,749”, not £4 million. The information in quotes is taken from a County Council Press Release dated 20th February 2013, a copy of which was sent to all County Councillors including LibDems.
They had the facts but chose to deliberately distort them. This is no surprise.
