David Warburton, the prospective MP for Somerton and Frome, showed his support for local business by meeting small business owners at the Woodside Court Wedding Fair at Woodside Studios in Sparkford.
Woodside Court is a business park dedicated to wedding-related companies including, celebration cake crafters Heathcote Cakes, wedding wear specialists Abbey Brides, Bespoke by Summer Mai, Julia Moore Floral Designs, The Table Gourmet Wedding Company and The Truly Madly Deeply Company, offering wedding stationery and design.
“As someone who built a company from very humble beginnings to an international business with offices worldwide, I know what’s involved in working hard to compete in the business world,” commented David. “In the current economic climate, small business owners in Somerset need support to grow and to flourish, and I look forward to meeting as many entrepreneurs as I can to offer them the help and encouragement they need.”
In addition to the permanent residents of Woodside Court, the Woodside Court Wedding Fair attracts a wide range of wedding industry exhibitors from across the South West.
David continued, “Woodside Court is an excellent example of a successful local enterprise. The wedding industry is a growth area, and by bringing together a group of independent companies all targeting the same market, Woodside Court offers a unique “one-stop-shop” which I believe is certain to become a popular retail destination for customers from across the South West and beyond.”
David, who was chosen to represent the constituency of Somerton and Frome by local Conservative members, lives in Mendip with his wife Harriet and their two children. He trained as a classical composer and taught at an inner-city secondary school before going into a successful business career.
