When they were last in charge of Somerset’s finances the Liberals Democrats borrowed £350 million, which means that Somerset residents are paying £100,000 a day to service this debt. That’s the annual salary of 3 social workers, spent every day on paying for the debt!
Worse still if they won the election they plan to borrow another £200 million – that would be an extra £55,000 a day to pay for the new debt. This is just unacceptable.
