The Grouping employs a small team of professional staff. The staff are appointed by and are accountable to the Grouping's Executive Council, which is made up of representatives from each of the Grouping's seven Associations.
Professional staff's role is to work alongside volunteers and elected representatives to coordinate campaigning activity and perform all of the administrative tasks that are related to the operations of a political party; for example the processing of Party membership. Staff also provide assistance for fundraising activities, though volunteers often take the lead in raising funds.
During elections there are laws that candidates must not break or they can forfeit the election. Part of all staff's responsibility is to understand the law and ensure that these are not broken.
