David Warburton, MP for Somerton and Frome, has shown his support for women with breast cancer by dressing up in pink to urge Somerset to take part in Breast Cancer Now’s flagship Wear It Pink campaign on Friday 23rd October.
Wear It Pink, the UK’s biggest pink fundraiser, calls on supporters across the country to wear something pink to raise money for Breast Cancer Now’s life-saving breast cancer research.
David Warburton MP joined fellow Members of Parliament in wearing it pink in Westminster this week to encourage people across the UK to get involved. Now in its fourteenth year, Wear It Pink raises over £2million each year for world-class research into breast cancer.
David said, “It was great to meet members of the Breast Cancer Awareness team in Parliament last week, and dress up in pink for this year’s Wear it Pink campaign. The UK has one of the lowest breast cancer survival rates in Western Europe and this year alone nearly 12,000 sufferers will lose their lives. Breast Cancer Now’s ambition is that by 2050 everyone with breast cancer will live, which is why I’m raising awareness of this vital fundraising initiative.
