Those three hundred thousand swims have included nearly 6000 parent and toddler swims in the 13m learner pool, 26,000 early bird swims, over 24,000 aquafit class attendees and 105,000 casual swims in the 25m 6-lane main pool. The pool's timetable also boasts disabled sessions, lunchtimes lanes, ladies only and inflatable fun amongst other sessions so all the family can find something to suit their needs.
The pool has a massive 885 swimmers signed up for private lessons, as well an additional 533 school swimmers using the pool on a weekly basis. To celebrate the pool's second birthday 1610, who manage the centre, are launching free public swims during March for those who attend private swimming lessons. 1610 are also offering some birthday specials in the 80-seater on-site café. There will be cake and coffee offers as well as a special meal deal.
In addition to welcoming the local community the pool, which is funded by Sedgemoor District Council, has also become home to Bridgwater Amateur Swimming Club who train there several times a week. A range of fundraising and swimming club events are also held at the pool. The next event will see the pool host a community swimathon on the weekend of 18th and 19th April in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
