Rebecca Pow, Conservative Prospective MP for Taunton Deane, recently joined the Link Power team, a voluntary organisation dedicated to cleaning up Halcon in Taunton. The team comprising largely of unemployed locals are dedicated to improving the local environment.  This includes mowing public areas, verge cutting, litter picking and collecting and returning hundreds of shopping trolleys!

Rebecca said “The Link Power project is providing such a good service in the area. Many of the volunteers involved are unemployed and in return for their services they are being given training in a range of skills, such as the use of horticultural equipment, which is enabling many of them to get back into work”

The project is all about local community volunteers taking pride in their local area, and it’s very heartening to see all the hard work that is being put in.
