cheque presentation

Conservative Councillor Mike Lewis was recently pleased to present a cheque for £2,250 from the County Council "Flood Mitigation Fund " to the clerk of Rimpton Parish Council; Emma Meacham, with the Parish Council Chairman and other councillors.

The County Council Flood Mitigation fund was set aside to allow communities and residents with a localised flooding issue the opportunity to receive some assistance with sourcing preventative measures.

Cllr Lewis said that 'In the light of the Major Incident on the Somerset Levels and Moors, the Somerset County Council's Flood Mitigation Scheme is of real benefit to those communities outside of the Levels and Moors, but none the less suffer from flooding".
