More than 100,000 people descended on Shepton Mallet for the largest agricultural show in the West as the Royal Bath and West Show returned - and the event was as successful as the weather was warm.
A bumper crowd enjoyed the scorching temperatures and array of local produce and entertainment on show to illustrate the breadth of the agricultural industry across the South West.
James Heappey - Member of Parliament for Shepton Mallet - spoke at the Country Land and Business Association breakfast, before meeting local members of the National Farmers Union, to discuss the industry and the challenges it is facing in and around the Wells constituency.
This discussion was followed by a visit to the local cider makers, and meeting the organisers of the show. The cider makers were competing for the top prize in the British Cider Championships, with Mr Heappey firmly backing the Somerset cider makers for success.
He said: "It was great to spend so much time at the fantastic Bath and West Show, speaking to so many people in the agricultural industry - something which is so important in the Wells constituency.
"The very best of Somerset was also on show, with so many great stalls with delicious local produce on sale for all to enjoy. It is one of the top dates in the calendar here in Somerset and I was very glad to be a small part of it.
"With this being the second year back following the pandemic, to get such lovely weather would have only boosted the crowd, which was brilliant to see."
