The North Somerset Conservative Councillor group commits to scrapping the parking charges introduced under the Parking Management Strategy in Clevedon, Nailsea and Portishead.
Additionally, we are keen to ensure that all remaining off street parking revenues are tangibly reinvested in our communities. This will ensure a 'fair trade' for our towns and residents who are being asked to pay more.
The first step to scrapping the charges is a targeted amendment at the 6 monthly parking charges review for Clevedon.
The Conservatives will argue for a costed policy amendment which lowers charges, encourages footfall in our town centre and which supports voluntary and community transport groups.
